Born and raised in Houston, TX, Dajauneke has been actively engaged in her local community from a young age, thanks to her grandmother's influence. As she grew older, her passion for mental health, voting rights, and public policy only deepened, a commitment that has continued throughout her high school years, college experience, and into her adult life.
Dajauneke earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Houston-Downtown. During her college years and early adulthood, she held leadership roles such as President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.'s Omicron Gamma Chapter, Fundraiser Coordinator for the National Society for Leadership and Success, Fellow for the University of Texas at Austin LBJ School - Public Policy and International Affairs Program (PPIA), and served as an Intern for the TX 18th Congressional District.
In her current roles as Program Manager and Voter Educator for nonprofit organizations, Dajauneke continues to channel her dedication to helping others. She is also an active member of organizations such as the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People - Houston Branch (NAACP) and Pure Justice.
Dajauneke's personal experience supporting her grandmother, who sadly lost her battle with cancer, has inspired her to serve as the Vice President of the advisory board. In this capacity, she is committed to working diligently to create a supportive and welcoming environment for cancer patients, caregivers, and families seeking support.
